4. WHAT IS A COOKIE?
Cookies are small text files that store information on your device (such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are useful because they allow a website to recognize your device and improve your browsing experience.
Cookies are typically classified into two main categories: “essential and functional” cookies and “non-functional” cookies.
• Functional cookies: Essential cookies: Technically necessary for the proper functioning of our website. They allow basic features to operate, such as routing user requests to the correct server.
• Functional cookies: Required to transmit communications over a network or to provide a service you have explicitly requested. Examples include cookies that store form inputs during a session, authentication cookies, or persistent cookies for remembering preferences such as language or display settings.
• Non-functional cookies: These include cookies that are not strictly necessary for the website to function. They may include cookies that remember preferences for future visits (e.g., language or region), analytics cookies to measure website usage, or marketing cookies to deliver personalized content.
Cookies can also be differentiated by their duration and source.
By duration:
• Persistent cookies: Remain on your device after closing your browser, until they expire or are manually deleted. They store user preferences or behavior.
• Session cookies: Temporary cookies that are deleted when the browser is closed.
By origin:
• First-party cookies: Set and controlled directly by the website you are visiting.
• Third-party cookies: Set by external partners via embedded content such as images or advertisements.
5. WHAT COOKIES DO WE USE AND WHY?
We only use essential cookies. Due to their technical necessity, only an obligation to inform applies, and these cookies are placed as soon as you access the website. No consent is required for these essential cookies.
